Simplicity

Take hold of the truth

There is something very profound in simplicity, and I am really learning and enjoying this lately. Despite how "fun" or whatever else all these things are, in reality busyness is decay to our soul. A distraction pulling us in a million directions. Why does the world (or immature Christians..ie me!) stay so busy? Because they have no relationship with God to give them anything of any real satisfaction. They fill up their days and their time and their lives with stuff and activities, so that there is no longer room for thinking, no longer room for meditation, no longer room for contemplation, and no time or quiet place to be confronted with the vast emptiness of their lives, and the burning heartache of unfufilled longing, satisfied only in Christ.~ Amy Van Ollefen

The Parable of the Snake

Once upon a time there was a serpent who was badly injured in a fight with another animal. It managed to slither away to safety but would have surely died if a benevolent man had not seen it suffering by the side of the road. The goodly man carefully wrapped the snake up and took it to his house, where he bestowed the kindest and gentlest care on the snake until it was healed and could return to the wild.
