Surrounded by Generals

When you are surrounded by Generals, who will fight? I find myself with so few on the field. Not comfortably perched on my horse. watching the battle from a distance, watching and analyzing the scales of worship. "Which way are things going?" "Kind of dry there," "No passion here, " "Fire there!" "We are losing" "We are winning," "Something is missing," "Needs more salt. " "Something seems just OFF?" "Can't quite put my finger on it, can you?" How about entering in beyond the place of comfort and "the norm"? When the focus is on the analysis, how will you see the King? It is not a matter of emotionalism, or fanaticism, or even reason. I dance alone, out of my comfort zone. I dance though I am too old I dance though I am told, "you are mature, you are grown, you are a general, stand off with the others; let the young ones do the fighting" I dance, not because I am ...

Lesson on Brick Walls and SO MUCH more!

I took the time today to listen to Dr. Randy Pausch's Final lecture before his death on July 25, 2008. The 2 major points I gleaned from it are: 1) "You just have to decide whether you are a Tigger or an Eeyore" 2) "Brick walls were NOT designed to keep you out.. but the keep out the people who don't want it bad enough"

DAY TWO of a New Thing

After the night before, I hardly could imagine how much better night 2 could possibly be. It DID get better and I stay amazed. Worship: Kevin's style stayed consistent with the night before.. but this time he had a long moment of silence and had us sit, lay, or stand and think on nothing but the goodness of God. I laid flat on my stomach at the altar and simple rested in His presence. It was marvelous. Many in the crowd began to laugh or cry.. I felt my stomach jumping on several occasions. But mostly, I stayed still and knew He was God. In my mind's eye, Jesus and I danced together and I had a quiet moment with just Him. I felt how much He loved me and I knew that I will not ever want for anything. I felt totally and completely His. sigh... there are no words to explain or describe it properly. From that state of peace, we were instructed to take our seats. The Sermon: Bill Johnson came to the front. He is a small man in appearance and also very soft spoken. I sat on the far...

Day ONE of Texas Ablaze

I don't want to forget about this year's Texas Ablaze. It truly has been amazing. Night 1: Worship was beautiful and I noticed that Kevin Prosch's form of music is changing from when I heard him last. He held back so much. He intentionally prevented any extreme directions toward emotionalism. He carefully guarded the direction of the music and if he sensed any slipping, he would back away. I have never experienced a worship leader using so much restraint.. without grieving or snuffing out the move of the spirit. I found it remarkable and refreshing. It was a controlled worship, but very intense at the same time, masterful. " the word does say that He will not; share His glory with another god; ... but we are not another... we are His beloved "~ the key lyric for the night~ The Sermon 3 speakers came up to speak: Keith Miller(introduction), Patricia King (on financial breakthrough), & Bobby Connor (on God melting men's heart through the prophetic) Post Serv...

Focus

It really is a miracle to find true love. But greater is the miracle if you are allowed to keep it. Depth in all these shallow graves Make it impossible to perceive it. Light talk Slight gestures; Keep us impossible to read. Keep the umbrella up, You have all that you could need. Keep your focus straight ahead. For love is not to find us captured. Keep your focus straight ahead. For it dare not have us mastered. Keep your focus straight ahead. And keep the rain blocked out. Contemplating what life may bring, And what I'll have to live without.

Subdue the Earth

Genesis 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." Subdue: To quiet or bring under control by physical force or persuasion. Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence , and the violent take it by force . hmmmm......... I have been hearing the word SUBDUE all day. I do believe in order to subdue something there is a force required. There is a form of authority in the Word by which the earth (and the laws of nature) must submit . This is the key to bringing Heaven (eternal) to Earth (temporal). The Earth (and it's physical laws) will not submit naturally.. but have to be SUBDUED. Isn't this what happened when Jesus told the storm, "peace, be still"; was this not an example of what it means to subdue the earth? Interesting......

You Can Only Run as Fast as the Person in Front of You

Be picky about who you allow to lead you. Better to follow the Holy Spirit than a person going astray or dragging their heals. Been hearing alot about spiritual authority, loyalty and "following the leader". I hear, "it is a rebellious generation" that will not submit to leadership. hmmmm.... what if leadership has not been earned? The reason why no one wants to follow.. is because so few have the character that qualify them to lead. The bible mentions the centurion with great faith, that understood leadership and authority. He said (paraphrased), "I SEE you are under authority and have authority; THEREFORE, just speak it and my servant will be healed." Jesus said (paraphrased), "I do what I SEE my Father doing, and speak what HE is saying. We have to SEE the authority of the Holy Spirit FIRST in a person's life and in our own; before we walk behind him and line up with him. Otherwise, the blind are leading the blind and demanding that their leade...

Convergence

I am experiencing a bit of convergence lately. Many changes, Many decisions.. and a feeling like I am riding by the seat of my pants. Problem 1: Myra remains undependable with helping my family with rides and pick ups (despite the fact that I gave her free car access, a cell phone, and I pay for the gas). This leaves a daily gap of instability as to how and who will get Lauren to work? Problem 2: Caleb HATES daycare :( Solution: My friend Laura is moving in today. She will be happy to drive Lauren to work and possibly begin babysitting Caleb and spare me the cost of child care. Plus her son is Caleb's age and they will make great playmates :) Opportunity 1: Zoe has been offered a babysitting job with Sheila. She will be paid $125 per week to watch a 10 year old. She can stay at Sheila's house instead of staying bored at my home all day. Opportunity 2: Sheila's lease is up on her house and she is looking for bigger home in the Spring area so we can room together. What I woul...
