And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what  is  that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. - Romans 12:2 T here is a difference between being conformed and being transformed.  Many will conform to the systems of this world just to survive. The program must be followed and the "norm" must be adhered to.. .otherwise there will most certainly be consequences.  In seeking out friendships, I have found an underlying factor with all of the people i "click" with. Most of the time they sit OUTSIDE of the program. Something about them smells the odor of the richly poured lyrics of what should and should not be acceptable within a social group and stay just outside of the edge without fully jumping into what may be considered rebellion.  What many don't realize is that it is ALL programming.
