metamorphoō

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. - Romans 12:2

There is a difference between being conformed and being transformed.

Many will conform to the systems of this world just to survive. The program must be followed and the "norm" must be adhered to.. .otherwise there will most certainly be consequences.

In seeking out friendships, I have found an underlying factor with all of the people i "click" with. Most of the time they sit OUTSIDE of the program. Something about them smells the odor of the richly poured lyrics of what should and should not be acceptable within a social group and stay just outside of the edge without fully jumping into what may be considered rebellion.

What many don't realize is that it is ALL programming. Whether you are "corporate", "christian", New Age, Addicted to any form of substance, Lesbian or Gay, Straight or Republican and Democrat, Antifa, or Nationalist. There is a script, dress and code for just about everything. So what is the answer or should I say, ESCAPE from the conformation all around us???

The bible calls it "transformation" or metamorphoō to be more specific.

I want metamorphoō.... what is it exactly... and what are the consequences of having it?

Of course when you look at the word, the first thing you can see is the "Metamorphosis" .. the concept being the change of a caterpillar to the butterfly. What we should all keep in mind, is that once you become a butterfly... there is NO GOING BACK, and most certainly, the caterpillars will hate you for it.

For all you "oversharers" out there (including me) It's best to keep your flight details to a minimum and for goodness sakes do NOT spread your wings and let them see your colors. GEESH people.

Well according to Strong's metamorphoō is to change into another form, to transform, to transfigure. Sounds really Sci-Fi and cool to me.

In the world of conformity... transfiguration is not so conforming. In a world of conformation, we would much rather face a gradual remodeling of what is already there, then the complete demolition (death to self) that is so evident in living a transfigured life. The truth is.. once you are transfigured.. the people who once knew the caterpillar you, will not even recognize you any more. Are you ready for that? Are you ready for the rejection and pain that can come with that as well?

So many who "find Jesus" really have found another system to conform to. No different than people who find Buddha's Inner Peace, New Age Awakening, or even the great  and virtuous Whole Food / Trader Joe / Jamba Juicing / Coffee shop / Skinny Jeans / Gauged Piercing / Crystal Wearing / Essential Oiled / fully smudged lifestyles. It can ALL be linked to compliance to one system or another.

So what in this world is actually authentic?

I suppose ... first thing first ... would be that Jesus was NEVER lost... so there is no need to FIND Him.. how about letting the truth of your own blind state strike you into the reality that YOU were the one groping in the dark.. and HE is the one who actually finds you and takes you on THE journey you need to become the LIGHT you were designed to be. Like Him.
Christ appearance was changed and was resplendent with divine brightness on the mount of transfiguration

Did you know that Christ is not Jesus' last name? That Christ is a very distinct mystery that is for us to know.. here and now.
Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: - Col 1:27
The answer to the ONLY way to experience true transfiguration... and real translation (a topic for another day).... is through CHRIST. I dare not say what that will look like.. because that is how conformation gets started. Once it is intellectually "explained" to people.. then the external work is pursued in order to accomplish the appearance necessary to mimic what should otherwise be an internal manifestation. This "mystery" is for each of us to look for on our own. This "mystery" is what brings authenticity to what would otherwise be known as Reality. This Mystery is displayed when we see our own reflections and realize that we ARE the glory of God.. we ARE HIS Children. CHILDREN of GOD walking on earth.. so AS HE IS.. so are we in this world.
But we all, with open face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Cor. 3:18

There is MUCH to that .... and conforming to the systems of this world will simply water down the truth and keep you longing for something you already have.

Break free and slide into who you already are.

BE set apart.

BE fearless.

The Parable of the Snake

Once upon a time there was a serpent who was badly injured in a fight with another animal. It managed to slither away to safety but would have surely died if a benevolent man had not seen it suffering by the side of the road. The goodly man carefully wrapped the snake up and took it to his house, where he bestowed the kindest and gentlest care on the snake until it was healed and could return to the wild. Just as the man was releasing the serpent back into the grass, the ungrateful snake turned and bit him on the hand. "What did you do that for?" cried the man, who knew that the bite of this particular snake was usually fatal. "Didn't I take care of you when no one else would?" The snake shrugged (no small feat for a snake!) and replied to the benevolent--and now doomed-- man, "What did you expect? You knew I was a snake when you picked me up." We certainly know without any question that they are snakes. Time will tell if the moral of the tale is appli...

Tough Mind and Tender Heart by Martin Luther King

SERMON: A Tough Mind And A Tender Heart, by Martin Luther King, Jr. Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. (Matthew 10:16) A French philosopher said, “No man is strong unless he bears within his character antitheses strongly marked.” The strong man holds in a living blend strongly marked opposites. Not ordinarily do men achieve this balance of opposites. The idealists are not usually realistic, and the realists are not usually idealistic. The militant are not generally known to be passive, nor the passive to be militant. Seldom are the humble self-assertive, or the self-assertive humble. But life at its best is a creative synthesis of opposites in fruitful harmony. The philosopher Hegel said that truth is found neither in the thesis nor the antithesis, but in an emergent synthesis that reconciles the two. Jesus recognized the need for blending opposites. He knew that his disciples would face a difficult and hostile world, where they would confront the recalcitrance of...

AS I SEEK

By Cherstin Jagger Mendez I seek within the ebb and flow, In every attempt for my heart to grow. I lean into the winds to see what they say. Hoping it’s secrets, it will give away. How do you live a life to the fullest? How do you push yourself beyond….? The lead weights on my feet telling me I can’t go, Due to my age or life, without much to show. For the potential within me fights every day to get out! For the voice in my heart says I can not do without … Without the land beneath my feet, Without the sound of the trees in the wind. Without the buds that bloom and tell me there’s hope, Without the love that flows from beyond my scope. Without the connection that reminds me that I’m alive, Without your heartbeat here by my side I seek again for what I cannot see. I seek again for what’s found inside of me. I seek again for the strength to persevere, As I walk among those that this world does fear …. DEDICATED TO TDCJ CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS
