Design

Sitting and Watching
Waiting for reality
When the world seems to block
the things that are meant to be unseen.

To see what you have created
behind the veil and cloak
to see what has been hidden
since beyond the time of hope.

The longing inside has to do with You
the deep knowing of something more
How can I redeem the time
of waiting and spending all I have.

How can I look and anticipate
The store of what has been set aside
How can I see what is coming
unless time I spend with You.

The world and it's noise
trying to pull away
The friends that I love
Needing my ear today.

If I don't hear I will die
If I don't see I will not make it
If you don't come, I can't take it.

Come and refresh me
come and renew me
come and bring life
come and make me
the woman you designed me to be.

Nath's Island

Dedicated to Dena McClure

I stand as a post between two fountains
The five point light to guide all paths
Harmony & Unity
So know one is lost.
Come and sit with me for there are two seats
& watch as the ripples collide
One does not overcome the other
but adds my texture
to the reflection of all seen things.

Perception - something to think about... really worth spending a minute

Washington, DC Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007. The man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time approximately two thousand people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After 3 minutes a middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried to meet his schedule.

4 minutes later:
The violinist received his first dollar: a woman threw the money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk.

6 minutes:
A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.
10 minutes:
A 3-year old boy stopped but his mother tugged him along hurriedly. The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children.. Every parent, without exception, forced their children to move on quickly.

45 minutes:
The musician played continuously. Only 6 people stopped and listened for a short while. About 20 gave money but continued to walk at their normal pace. The man collected a total of $32.

1 hour:

He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before, Joshua Bell sold out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.

This is a true story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people's priorities. The questions raised: in a commonplace environment at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize talent in an unexpected context?

One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be this: If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ever made..... How many other things are we missing?

Enoch Walk Snapshot

We are going to document some of the things the Holy Spirit is having me do during this time. I am not exactly sure why, but since He says so, I am sure there is a purpose.

Starting today I will be having communion every day. I have V8 and Matza, but He has made it clear that it is the heart that is more important than the substance during communion. I can have communion with Pizza and Coke if that is what is at hand. What matters is the "in remembrance of". Today I read Luke's account of the last supper out loud. I couldn't get past reading this without crying: "with fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer, for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God." Picturing Jesus in my mind and when He says "with fervent desire", I KNOW He is not exaggerating. What He was feeling during that time must have been tremendous love! The communion was good and I see no reason why I should not make a point to do it everyday from now on.

Also, started "breathing scriptures". Dena McClure introduced this to us for the first time in our Women's Conference. Dena is RICH with books and scripture and experience, I am grateful to her for teaching us this exercise. It consists of breathing in DEEPLY and exhaling a small portion of scripture at a time. BREATHING the Word of God. I am really surprised at how much each word impacts my soul as I take TIME to meditate on it in this way.

We created another anointing oil fragrance today. Spending time in Luke and reading about John's start in this world, inspired me to create something that made me think of WILD crickets and honey. Not sure if I can name it "crickets and honey" though. hmmmmm... maybe? I guess, why not? I wish the screen was scratch and sniff so you guys could smell and let me know what you think..lol. The closest I can get is this image... it looks like what today's scent smells like.

There's an invention I need to get on.
I thought, if ink jets can mix colors.. Why not be able to buy scent cartridges and mix/create scents? Scented print outs that turn out like the perfume samples in magazines. I am sure someone will think of it soon. Just in case, I claim this idea as intellectual property for future reference ;).

Pacing Lion

This Sunday morning I saw a lion pacing a small cage, back and forth, back and forth. Then it was released in to the wild. Do you know what that lion did? It just continued to pace back and forth. It could not comprehend it's freedom. It's time the church quit pacing. Take the land!

There was an irony to it. I saw the vision at the altar during worship service and right after, people with prophetic insight were chosen by leadership in order to give a word for the church. I was not chosen so I sat quietly and kept the vision to myself. I felt like a pacing lion.. and it made me laugh. There is a time to speak and a time to be silent. It is good to have wisdom to know the difference. This is when I realized that the cage is not always self imposed. For so long the things I have seen and heard were ALWAYS kept between me and the Holy Spirit, now I am actually SURPRISED when I am able to release it.

Yes, the structure of church does feel like a cage at times. But that is NOT where God intends for us to release church! Listen, listen, listen... GOD has put us in to the OPEN PLACES! If the only hope you have to express your spiritual gifts is in the 4 walls of the church you will STARVE or worse than that, you will become performance driven in order to get in with the "in" crowd with the hopes of some day having a platform to release. YES! We are meant to give out what we have; but, dear brothers and sisters, we were designed for the WILD. Do not be afraid and do not starve. It is a mandate (GO ye therefore in to all nations..)to GO and use our spiritual gifts for a world that is HUNGRY for it. It is not just for the 4 walls of a church. There is no way the church could possibly give EVERYONE's gift a platform.. that is not it's design. Go! Go! Go!.. Go hunt down your encounters. When Jesus said, "I have food you not of"; this is what He meant. This is OUR FOOD.. Healing is the children's bread. SELAH.. Think on it. GO!

In the mean time, let church be church. One thing I have learned, is leaders and elders hear from God too :D (what a relief).. IF the vision was for that moment in time. One of them would have heard God say, "Cher has a word". Once relationship and trust is established; then, the door will open. I am honestly in no hurry. I have enjoyed the quiet secrets between me and God. I have come to a place where He speaks to me continually. There is not one question that I ask that He does not answer. He also gives me visions as people are speaking or during worship to explain deeper things. HE REALLY LOVES to answer questions! The Holy Spirit really wants us to understand what is happening around us. I am His disciple and MOST of the time, it's just between us (Matt13:11&12). If anyone wants or needs to know something, they can just ask Him.. He is faithful to answer. And when He points out blocked children in the public arena, I go after them like a lioness and He is my rear guard. We hunt together in the ministry of reconciliation. I am enjoying our intimacy. I am enjoying purpose.

Voting Recommendations for
2009 Texas Constitutional Amendments

Voting is currently underway on 11 amendments to the Texas State Constitution (early voting will continue through October 30, with general voting on November 3).

We want to provide you with our recommendations on the amendments that are on the ballot, as well as dates and locations where you may go to vote. (Our Christian Voter Guide website has voter guides from other pro-family groups, as well as additional information.) Please vote, pass this on, and encourage those in your circle of influence to vote!

WallBuilders Recommendations

Proposition 1: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the financing, including through tax increment financing, of the acquisition by municipalities and counties of buffer areas or open spaces adjacent to a military installation for the prevention of encroachment or for the construction of roadways, utilities, or other infrastructure to protect or promote the mission of the military installation."

Recommended Vote: No

Reasoning: The language of this amendment is so vague that it will allow cities and counties to enlarge infrastructure, increase the use of eminent domain, and thus elevate property taxes under the laudable excuse of helping military bases. Municipalities already have the right to use eminent domain, but this amendment would authorize them to finance an expanded use of that power. While the stated purpose of this amendment is laudable, the potential for abuse and misuse is too great.

Proposition 2: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to provide for the ad valorem taxation of a residence homestead solely on the basis of the property's value as a residence homestead."

Recommended Vote: Yes

Reasoning: Currently, residential property is taxed on its "highest and best use," thus allowing excessive property taxation by taxing residential property as if it were commercial property. According to the Texas House Select Committee on Property Tax Relief and Appraisal Reform, "appraisal values increased from 200-400% in one year as a result of the 'highest and best use' standard." This amendment helps provide a limit on property tax appraisal hikes by ensuring that residential homes are appraised at a residential rather than a commercial value.

Proposition 3: "The constitutional amendment providing for uniform standards and procedures for the appraisal of property for ad valorem tax purposes."

Recommended Vote: Yes

Reasoning: This amendment provides for equal treatment among Texans, ensuring that property tax appraisals will be calculated by uniform standards and methods, thus reducing bias and manipulation in appraisals. Local decision-making on this tax issue will be eliminated by this amendment, but on this issue, equal treatment of all citizens under the law is a more fundamental and compelling principle than that of local controls.

Proposition 4: "The constitutional amendment establishing the national research university fund to enable emerging research universities in this state to achieve national prominence as major research universities and transferring the balance of the higher education fund to the national research university fund."

Recommended Vote: No

Reasoning: This amendment will increase spending on non-essential government services at a time when the economy is poor and there is a likelihood of a deficit in the coming legislative session. This is the wrong time for increased spending on non-essential governmental services; current educational resources should be focused on student education rather than research expansion. Furthermore, free enterprise already provides extensive and productive private research whereas government funded research often results in questionable projects and endeavors that would never withstand free-market scrutiny or competition.

Proposition 5: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to authorize a single board of equalization for two or more adjoining appraisal entities that elect to provide for consolidated equalizations.

Recommended Vote: Yes

Reasoning: This amendment will help reduce government duplication and redundancy. Since rural counties with small populations often have a limited pool of qualified persons to serve on appraisal review boards, this consolidation will make it more likely that review boards will be staffed with competent and qualified personnel.

Proposition 6: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the Veterans' Land Board to issue general obligation bonds in amounts equal to or less than amounts previously authorized."

Recommended Vote: No strong recommendation; weak NO

Reasoning: The Veterans' Land Board (composed of both elected and appointed officials) has been one government agency with a record of efficient operation. Currently, the Board must seek legislative approval every two years in order to issue low risk bonds, but this amendment will eliminate that bi-annual requirement. Based on the positive record of this Board, this amendment might possibly increase government operating efficiency. But on the other hand, for a board to seek a bi-annual legislative approval helps ensure accountability and maintains checks and balances, therefore remaining a sound principle of governance.

Proposition 7: "The constitutional amendment to allow an officer or enlisted member of the Texas State Guard or other state militia or military force to hold other civil offices."

Recommended Vote: Yes

Reasoning: From the time of the Founding Fathers, state elected officials have been allowed to serve in state militaries (e.g., Samuel Adams and Patrick Henry). While this practice is not permitted on the federal level (the Constitution separates the civil authority from the military authority, and federal law reinforces that separation of power), it has been traditional at the state level. This amendment will permit Texas civil officials who wish to do so to also serve in the Texas State Guard.

Proposition 8: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the state to contribute money, property, and other resources for the establishment, maintenance, and operation of veterans hospitals in this state."

Recommended Vote: No

Reasoning: Veterans hospitals and veterans benefits are services provided by the national military and are under the direct supervision of the national Congress (a fact made clear by George Washington in his letter resigning from the Continental Army at the end of the American Revolution). While there is currently a proper resistance to federal intrusion into state powers, the issue of veterans is one that constitutionally should be maintained at the federal rather than the state level. Veterans do need excellent services and facilities, but it is the responsibility of the federal and not the state governments to provide the necessary excellence in this area. Opposing this amendment preserves the constitutional separation of powers between the federal and the state levels.

Proposition 9: "The constitutional amendment to protect the right of the public, individually and collectively, to access and use the public beaches bordering the seaward shore of the Gulf of Mexico."

Recommended Vote: No

Reasoning: Constitutionally requiring that there must be public access to these beaches infringes the private property rights of those owning property along those beaches. The Open Beaches Act of 1959 already provides protections for easements along those beaches. This is an expansion of government power that infringes on private property rights.

Proposition 10: "The constitutional amendment to provide that elected members of the governing boards of emergency services districts may serve terms not to exceed four years."

Recommended Vote: No

Reasoning: Currently, Emergency Service Districts have great powers, including the power to levy taxes, and board members serve two year terms. Lengthening these terms would reduce public oversight over these board members and their extensive powers. These board members should be as accountable to voters as are members of the Texas and the U. S. House of Representatives and therefore should face elections every two rather than every four years.

Proposition 11: "The constitutional amendment to prohibit the taking, damaging, or destroying of private property for public use unless the action is for the ownership, use, and enjoyment of the property by the State, a political subdivision of the State, the public at large, or entities granted the power of eminent domain under law or for the elimination of urban blight on a particular parcel of property, but not for certain economic development or enhancement of tax revenue purposes, and to limit the legislature's authority to grant the power of eminent domain to an entity."

Recommended Vote: Yes

Reasoning: In 2005, the U. S. Supreme Court's Kelo decision wrongly allowed cities to depart from the tradition exercise of eminent domain for "public use" (i.e., to obtain private property for the construction of schools, bridges, roads, etc.) and instead to apply an expansive "public purpose" measurement whereby cities could seize private property and turn it over to economic developers who would generate increased tax revenue for cities. However, the Supreme Court did note that state legislatures could limit this power by defining "public use"; this amendment properly narrows the definition, thereby better protecting private property rights.

Here's what you can do:

1. Find your polling location! Early voting locations (open from October 19-30) may be different than Election Day locations (November 3). Because you never know what last-minute emergencies may arise, please early vote and encourage others to do the same!

2. Please pass this information on to others and encourage them to vote! You may also visit www.christianvoterguide.com for additional information.

God Bless!

It's Time to Recover the Spoils

10/20/09 Vision during Sheryn Turner Soaking Session @ Freedom Fellowship

Red ribbon spooled out of the floor next to me and draped red satin strips of material over my body to form a ruby red pants suit. When I looked down I wondered why pants? I am usually put in a dress inside my visions.. then I looked up to see a horse standing and waiting on me. The horse was Dark Dark brown with red highlights in the mane.

I rode the horse and was able to go to many places in just seconds. First to a mountain top, then to a quiet forest with a stream. The horse began to walk inside the stream when I asked him to take me to Jesus. Then I saw the sky above me begin to separate and create a dark blue circle. A patch of grass rose from the earth to the sky creating a nature trail in to the sky. The horse walked up the slope and we arrived on top of the clouds on to a grassy field. I looked over at a large rock sitting in the field and got off my horse while he grazed and sat on the rock.

Then I felt His hands on both of my shoulders behind me. He hugged me from behind and I looked down and could see his white sleeves and gold lined lapels. I turned and stood on the rock to be his height and I held Jesus. I placed my nose in the nook of His neck and breathed in deeply the scent of Him. He held me close and then pulled me away just enough to kiss my lips.

Immediately from the kiss I went from first person sight to 3rd person. I saw myself being kissed by Him then set on fire. My whole body was covered in fire. I looked like the human torch. All I could recognize was my eyes. Then Jesus looked over to my horse and I knew it was time to ride again. I walked to my horse and when I touched it.. It caught fire too. When I went up on to the horse. I wondered what to do? I didn't understand how I was to go to earth when everything I touched was going to burn up. How could the earth stand it?

Just as I wondered that, the gentle hand of the soaking director was on my forehead & as she prayed for me during the soaking session it began to snow in my vision. The snow mixed with the flames and I was surrounded with steam. Everything turned white inside of the steam. My clothes the horse..everything. When I asked about the steam, I heard "Glory".

In this state I returned to the earth. My horse took me to a camp site where I peered down and was able to see myself in real time with my son inside of an RV sitting at a table while I appeared to be homeschooling him. In the horizon a man came to me and I immediately recognized him to be the eternal spirit of my own son. Then I looked over and saw my 3 daughters also approaching. All of them looking magnificent and incredibly beautiful and regal.

I stepped off my horse as they stood around me and were positioned North, South, East & West. I peered behind each child and could see my grandchildren, behind them.. my great grandchildren.. then what I began to see behind each of my children was like the reflection you get when you hold a mirror up to a mirror at an angle. I saw a LONG LONG lineage and the cords were connecting us all. Then the vision pulled back in to a broad scope and I saw a net of future generations covering the entire world. I was in awe.

Then in front of us was a deep dark crevice. I realized then the purpose of the net of ascendants. I was to be lowered into the cavern. At the edge of deep whole, my 4 children held me dangling over the center. Then they jumped in and my grandchildren were holding them at the edge. Then my grandchildren jumped and my great grandchildren were holding us. As this progressed (and with me at the tip), I was being lowered deeper and deeper in to the darkest of places.

This part of my vision was very hard to keep hold of because the darkness was just that. COMPLETELY dark. I could not see my hands in front of me or my children behind me. This is when I was able to grasp what felt like a large rough rock. I took the rock and swallowed it. As I did, light shot up from me in to my children and children's children all the way to the top. It was amazing.. for such a dark place to see a ripple of light go up in ring after ring after ring. It was beautiful. Each rock I swallowed carried a different light and a different meaning. While I was picking up the rocks, I know I could see their meanings.. but for some reason, when I came out of the vision the memory of the rock meanings were wiped away.

The soaking session ended and I was left with the reality of the purpose of this season in time. We are to recover ALL that our descendants of the past have either pitched, lost, or stolen. We are to recover our inheritance for our children and theirs.

This is the season of RECOVERY! Not just for me... but all of God's Children.
