Sunday night I had one of my vivid night visions (dream :p). I dreamt I was on a boat with a group of missionaries going up a river. When I would look in to the water beneath me I could see red and orange piranhas swimming in the water (I was happy to be in the boat). The ride was cut short when the boat crashed on an island. Most of the members of the team decided to work on ways to fix the boat. I felt an urgency about getting to our destination and decided to call crocodiles to give me a ride to get the mission done. Only 2 other members were willing to come with me... the rest opted for boat repair.
When I called out for the crocodiles the King of Crocodiles was forced to come. He was extremely LARGE and was black and gray speckled and VERY unhappy about the summons. When he glared and snapped at me, I scolded him and reminded him that he MUST yield whether he liked it or not. He complied. I also called 2 more in for the other team members and we headed out.
The cool thing about the dream is that I remember the way the crocodile felt beneath me.. cold and rigid. . I even felt it's hind legs bumping the back of my leg and calf as it was kicking. Intensely vivid. As we traveled, I remembered the piranhas and commanded the crocodiles to eat any piranhas that tried to attack us. It didn't mind that command at all.
As it ate piranhas, we arrived at our destination, a small raft floating adrift in the middle of the water with a 4 year old and 15 month old girls and a gray and black Full grown tabby Cat. The cat came to me; but the crocodile made it clear that it would rather eat the cat than give it a ride. I saw a smaller younger tabby swimming alone under the water and told to the croc to take that one instead. In the small time where I was distracted by trying to protect the cat the children's raft was beginning to teeter and the 4 year old was gripping the baby to keep it from falling in.
I grabbed both children in time and we all headed back to the island where the rest of the team remained to work on the boat.
The dream is rich with symbolism and I will have to go through it. All I know is after the dream I sensed great victory and also knew that sometimes in order to reach people in need you have to go by non-traditional means. If I would have waited to repair the boat.. the children would have died. Riding on "the enemy's back" is not ideal, preferable, or comfortable; but we do have authority and we MUST use it when the time comes.
I am learning so much so fast. I sense a big challenge at the top of this hill. I sense a release into the calling I was designed for.
