Pool Mom Summer


What in the world
Can get me to leave
A perfectly cool house
And a list of things to be done?

What else.. but
A group of 4 children
who long to be in the sun
Crying out for a mom
who wished she could be more fun

So off I go,
A load in the Jeep
Off to the pool
Where they race in for a leap

Off to the deep end
While I sit in my chair
Knowing that a good book
Will be my comfort there

It truly is wonderful
When summer time arrives
When children force me to leave
all my worries behind

I rest with my eyes closed
soaking up the sun
To glance across the water
With peace when the headcount is done

All is well
in a big Texas way
All is well.
For I'm a pool mom this day.
