The Gravity of the Law

The buzz phrase of today, "we are no longer under the Law, but Grace". Although there is significant truth in this statement, it can be easily applied incorrectly.

When I asked the Holy Spirit about how the Law is to function in the lives of believers today, He showed me the Law of Gravity vs. the Law of Aerodynamics.

When we discovered Aerodynamics it did not abolish the Law of Gravity. What goes up STILL must come down. However, it has given us the ability to supersede gravity. Aerodynamics is to gravity, as Grace is to the Law.

If believers today walk a life thinking they are no longer subject to the Law (the ten commandments), then their lives are going over the edge of a cliff and free falling. Whether you BELIEVE in gravity or not is completely irrelevent as to whether you are going to fall and get hurt. Whether you believe it or not, sin in your life will catch up to you. What goes around, really will come around. What you reap, you really will sow (with increase). So, what does it mean to be under Grace then? And how can you have both laws working in your life simultaneously?

Just as the purpose of Aerodynamics is to supersede gravity and thereby give us the ability to accomplish the seemingly impossible (by flying) and to reach altitudes that otherwise would be impossible, due to the Law of Gravity; we are equipped by Aerodynamics for accelerated travel. Grace serves an equivelant function. It is for the specific purpose of superceding the Law in order for us to reach higher places and go on accelerated journeys in our daily lives. Grace brings us to impossible places, that would not otherwise be allowed by the Law.

BOTH Gravity and Aerodynamics work and operate in the physical today. The discovery of one did not negate the other. Likewise, Grace in our lives has no way negated the Law, but has brought it to submission to something greater.

Never take the Law or Grace for granted. They are both used by God to bring us through the most impossible journey leading to intimacy with the ONE and ONLY Creator of Heaven and Earth.
