After putting in my 2 weeks notice I worked exactly 46.25 hours over in order to train my replacement. Imagine my surprise when the remaining vacation time that needed to be included on to my final pay was.. you guessed it... 46.25 hours! What are the odds of doubling my vacation time down to the very MINUTE? See how neat and tidy God is about wrapping things up. His hands are ALL over, all it takes are eyes to see. I would not have been able to do that if I tried. Then I wondered..what does 46.25 mean?
The 46th book in the bible is I Corinthians.. Chapter 2 Verse 5 says... (Amplified Bible) "So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men (human philosophy), but in the power of God."
But this is what rang in my spirit:
Psalm 46:2-5 (Amplified Bible)Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken into the midst of the seas,Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling and tumult. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God will help her right early [at the dawn of the morning].
WHAT A PROMISE!!!
That's my promise. It was really hard to quit my job without any explanation except for "I'm trusting God". Today was really awkward and the executives seemed to be avoiding me through the week. I really needed this verse. So many people believe that if you choose to be one of God's "ministers" than you are choosing a vow of poverty. I had a Christian girl from another office tell me today, "it is great what you are doing.. but God will never pay you as much as you are making now".. I was grieved. She kept trying to get me to agree with her. .without trying to be too contrary, I just said, "we'll see" and smiled (but my heart said.. according to your faith.. so be it unto thee) and I believe God is MORE than able to SURPASS anything I could "earn" on my own.
I think I need to learn to be more contrary.
Looking forward!
