Between Heaven and Earth

So much has changed about me since Monday's impartation from the team that returned from Lakeland, Florida revival. I can even see a difference in my eyes, something has changed DEEP inside of me. This week has been the most amazing week of my life; and is just the beginning. Even the statue by my office building is preparing for rain. It knows the time we are living in.

The evidence of God's Glory outpouring is showing up in my life. I have not been able to get to the computer to write about it. But I need to at least mention this Wednesday at the park.

I had my picnic time with Jesus, took my bible to the park and my Hartz Chicken strips ;). After eating I took a small nap while listening to my IPod. Hearing Cloud by Day and worshiping the ONE and Only God of all creation brought me to such a place of peace, I was totally overwhelmed by His love. I felt like I was glowing from inside; so I took a picture to see if it what I was feeling on the inside was showing up on the outside.

When I woke up after 15 minutes, I opened my bible to Proverbs 3:21-26 "Dear friend, guard Clear Thinking and Common Sense with your life; don't for a minute lose sight of them. They'll keep your soul alive and well, they'll keep you fit and attractive. You'll travel safely, you'll neither tire nor trip. You'll take afternoon naps without a worry, you'll enjoy a good night's sleep. No need to panic over alarms or surprises, or predictions that doomsday's just around the corner, Because God will be right there with you; he'll keep you safe and sound."-MSG

**SMILE**

After reading that verse, I had a strong sense of KNOWING the Presence of the Holy Spirit surrounding me right at that moment; saturating me, in me and through me. This level of awareness changed everything around me. Even the atmosphere seemed to change. Everything looked so beautiful and vivid. More so than at any time I can recall. I decided to just take a picture to TRY to capture the way the world was looking to me at that moment. The moment I felt Heaven and Earth overlapping. This is what the 2 look like together.

It wasn't until I uploaded the photo in my computer that I noticed that the trees are semi-transparent. Explain it however you want; I KNOW. My camera captured that Chiros moment. My cell phone camera actually captured the place I go to when I worship Jesus and find myself right between Heaven and Earth. AWESOME!

Thanks Phillip, Your are my favorite encourager. Have you ever come across Transparent photos (non-edited)? The more I look, the more it seems like there is no explanation other than the fact that I serve an AWESOME GOD :)Joseph says it is chromatic aberration or "blooming".. but when I researched them NONE of those images are transparent (just blurred somewhat). I do not believe that is what happened.

Hi Cherstin,

I stumbled across your blog because I was doing a little research on "chiros" moments. It was actually neat reading what you wrote. I'm so blessed by it, because similar things have happened to me lately. Anyway, I'm a photographer by trade, and it's hard to say what caused your image to look the way it did, but I have a complete open mind when it comes to these moments. And once you've been so close to God that eternity starts pouring out of your heart all around you, it's hard to fall in love with the world ever again. I mean, these little moments are only snippets of the glory that will be revealed in us.

In Him,
Chris

The Parable of the Snake

Once upon a time there was a serpent who was badly injured in a fight with another animal. It managed to slither away to safety but would have surely died if a benevolent man had not seen it suffering by the side of the road. The goodly man carefully wrapped the snake up and took it to his house, where he bestowed the kindest and gentlest care on the snake until it was healed and could return to the wild. Just as the man was releasing the serpent back into the grass, the ungrateful snake turned and bit him on the hand. "What did you do that for?" cried the man, who knew that the bite of this particular snake was usually fatal. "Didn't I take care of you when no one else would?" The snake shrugged (no small feat for a snake!) and replied to the benevolent--and now doomed-- man, "What did you expect? You knew I was a snake when you picked me up." We certainly know without any question that they are snakes. Time will tell if the moral of the tale is appli...

Tough Mind and Tender Heart by Martin Luther King

SERMON: A Tough Mind And A Tender Heart, by Martin Luther King, Jr. Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. (Matthew 10:16) A French philosopher said, “No man is strong unless he bears within his character antitheses strongly marked.” The strong man holds in a living blend strongly marked opposites. Not ordinarily do men achieve this balance of opposites. The idealists are not usually realistic, and the realists are not usually idealistic. The militant are not generally known to be passive, nor the passive to be militant. Seldom are the humble self-assertive, or the self-assertive humble. But life at its best is a creative synthesis of opposites in fruitful harmony. The philosopher Hegel said that truth is found neither in the thesis nor the antithesis, but in an emergent synthesis that reconciles the two. Jesus recognized the need for blending opposites. He knew that his disciples would face a difficult and hostile world, where they would confront the recalcitrance of...

AS I SEEK

By Cherstin Jagger Mendez I seek within the ebb and flow, In every attempt for my heart to grow. I lean into the winds to see what they say. Hoping it’s secrets, it will give away. How do you live a life to the fullest? How do you push yourself beyond….? The lead weights on my feet telling me I can’t go, Due to my age or life, without much to show. For the potential within me fights every day to get out! For the voice in my heart says I can not do without … Without the land beneath my feet, Without the sound of the trees in the wind. Without the buds that bloom and tell me there’s hope, Without the love that flows from beyond my scope. Without the connection that reminds me that I’m alive, Without your heartbeat here by my side I seek again for what I cannot see. I seek again for what’s found inside of me. I seek again for the strength to persevere, As I walk among those that this world does fear …. DEDICATED TO TDCJ CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS
